One of the amazing things about Garden City is that you can live in this quiet suburban area and then in 40 minutes you can be in Times Square! In around half an hour you can be by Yankee Stadium!

In this regard, it provides the best of all worlds. It was founded by Alexander Turney Stewart in the 19th century and Ill write more about him in a future piece. There is no museum for him and maybe there should be.
Garden City is one of the country's first planned communities and in 1927 Charles Lindberg started his famous flight in Garden City. There is a strong aviation history in Garden City and the Cradle of Aviation Museum is here. JFK airport is just 20 minutes away.
