Active Assailant Response Training To Be Conducted In Glen Cove

Nassau County and Glen Cove first responders will be joining the U.S. Coast Guard on Tuesday for an active assailant response training.

GLEN COVE, NY — Nassau County officials say they will be conducting an active assailant response training on Tuesday at the Glen Cove Ferry Terminal.

The exercise is a collaboration between the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management, the City of Glen Cove Police Department, the Glen Cove Fire Department, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Topics will include emergency services response, mitigation of impacts, and mass care/triage/transportation of those aided, and recovery.

"The goal of this exercise is to test existing plans and procedures and to ensure the collective agencies are coordinated in response to an incident of this nature and magnitude," officials said in a statement.
