'Beer Nerd Palace,' Craft Beer 'Experience,' Opens In Sea Cliff
Campground Beer Market said it's "a different kind of craft beer experience" with curated drafts, family games, in former mechanic's shop.

SEA CLIFF, NY — A unique tap room opened in Sea Cliff this fall, and the owners say it was designed to offer "a different kind of craft beer experience with big vibes and sunny energy."
Sea Cliff residents Emil Lanne and Pete Johnson created Campground Beer Market — "half bottle shop, half bar, half beer nerd palace" — in a renovated former auto mechanic shop and tow company at 208 Sea Cliff Avenue. The business is more than just a tasting room: There is a retail shop and bar with a "curated array of local, national and international craft beer along with wine, ciders, craft cocktails and inventive bar snacks," the owners say on their website.
In the back, Campground has games like family-friendly pinball machines and couches for patrons to hang out in a "cozy but bright" space, with four large garage doors that open to the outside.

Lanne and Johnson plan to transform the space's back lot into a community beer garden, a "destination for families, locals and beer aficionados from all over Long Island."
The bar has ten taps with "hard-to-find" craft beers, the owners say.
