The new service is available in the Pulaski Garage behind City Hall.

Glen Cove recently secured state funding that brought an electric vehicle charging station to the City.

The charging station will be located on the first floor of the Pulaski Garage behind City Hall. The station was unveiled on Nov. 21.

The City installed the station to meet the needs to residents who are part of the rapid expansion of the electric vehicle market.

At the unveiling, members of the CDA and DPW teams along with Ron Gulmi of Alternative Energy Solutions (a Green Power Technology Channel Partner) and Eric Dobrin, a downtown business professional and an electric vehicle owner, were present.

The installation of the City’s electric vehicle charge station is the third of four High Impact Action items that ned to be completed for Glen Cove to become a NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority) Certified Clean Energy Community.

The first was the benchmarking of the energy use in all City facilities, the second was the City’s unified solar permit process and the final step is a code enforcement training initiative with the Building Department. Once that final step is completed, the City will submit its accomplishments for certification review.
