Glen Cove Annual Holiday Festival In PHOTOS
Free horse-and-carriage rides, candy canes, Santa Claus and more were on full display at this year's festival.

GLEN COVE, NY — Glen Cove's annual holiday festival brought fun-filled festivities to the city over the weekend, including singing, dancing, sleigh bells and Santa Claus himself.
At the event, held Saturday in the new plaza at Village Square, free horse-and-carriage rides carried residents and visitors on a leisurely city tour down Glen and School streets.
Attendees watched the Glen Cove High School jazz band perform, as well as Nicole Loizides of Moving On, and martial artists from Garcia Muay Thai. Glen Gardens Children’s Choir also performed, as did the North Shore Village Theater. Furthermore, excerpts from Charles Dickens' timeless classic, "A Christmas Carol" were read by the Slayer Players theater troupe ahead of the city's Christmas tree lighting.

Throughout the day, children posed for free photos with Santa in Santa’s newly decorated home designed by Safavieh's Home Furnishing and enjoyed free candy canes, cookies and hot cocoa.
"The holiday festival was really great this year," Danielle Fugazy-Scagliola, a member of the organization's board of directors, said in a news release. "Santa’s tent was beautifully decorated and it was so nice to have a bit of the village square open for the festivities. I think all who came out to enjoy the entertainment, take a picture with Santa or go for a horse and carriage ride had a wonderful time. It was a great day in downtown Glen Cove."
