Glen Cove Brothers Face Weapons Charges Within 24 Hours Of Each Other

One of the brothers was caught selling drugs in a Taco Bell parking lot, police say.

Two brothers arrested within 24 hours of each other in Glen Cove both face gun possession charges after police say the younger brother was caught selling drugs in a Taco Bell parking lot on Sunday.

According to Glen Cove Police, Ira Hall, 29, of Glen Cove, was seen by officers on surveillance conducting a drug transaction in the Taco Bell parking lot, located at 98 Forest Ave. Police say Hall was found to be in possession of a loaded revolver and a quantity of cocaine.

Officers then executed a search warrant on Ira Hall's home on Monday afternoon and discovered a semi-automatic handgun inside the residence, police say. Ira Hall's brother, 31-year-old Richard Hall, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of the weapon.

"The Glen Cove Police Department is committed to seeking out illegal weapons and identifying and arresting drug dealers who decide to sell their poison within our city," Glen Cove Det. Let. John Nagle said in a statement. "Any time we are able to remove an illegal gun off the streets or to take a drug dealers operation down it's a win for the community."

Ira Hall was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.

They will be arraigned in District Court in Hempstead.
