GLEN COVE, NY — The 2025 Holiday Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting in Glen Cove's Village Square on Saturday was made possible by the Romero Family's tree donation.

Helver Romero said he moved to Glen Cove at 16 years old with his family and remained in the city. The family donated the tree they had watched grow for almost two decades.

Romero said the fir was approximately 35 feet tall.

"Anything we can do to help Glen Cove," he said. "They asked if we would donate the tree, and I spoke to my wife and daughter, and we agreed. It was an easy decision."

Romero said he and his family went to the Holiday Festival to see the tree lit up.

"It looked so beautiful there with the lights on," he said. "It was so amazing."

He said they are thinking about planting the same type of tree to watch it grow over the years.

The Holiday Festival was presented by Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) and the City of Glen Cove.
