GLEN COVE, NY — Glen Cove’s Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck and the City Council paid tribute to the founder of the city's St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, by posing for a photo along the parade route.

Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton said she is especially proud to march in the parade each year because her father, Donald DeRiggi, launched
the parade in 1989 while serving as mayor at the suggestion of his wife, Millie (nee Murphy), who has always taken great pride in her Irish heritage, her office said.
