GLEN COVE, NY —Glen Cove residents approved a 2024-25 school budget on Tuesday plus two financial propositions and elected three trustees to the Board of Education.
The $13.4 million proposed budget, with a 2.768 percent hike in the school tax levy was approved, and the propositions were even more popular.
The budget is within the state's tax cap for the district so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.

School board incumbents Anne Markoulis, Meghan Lavine and Maureen Jimenez were uncontested in their bids for re-election to the Board of Education.

Proposition 2 sought voter approval for the establishment of a new capital reserve fund. It would cover various upgrades and renovations such as classroom enhancements, auditorium, gymnasium, cafeteria, and library improvements, as well as technology upgrades, security enhancements, and compliance with ADA requirements.
