Glen Head Couple Used First Wife's Identity To Deliver Baby: DA
The man and his girlfriend used his first wife's identity and medical insurance to receive medical care.

A Glen Head couple are accused of using the man's first wife's identity and medical insurance to receive medical care and deliver a baby under her name, Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas announced on Thursday.
Mohammed Aziz, 61, was arraigned Thursday on charges of first-degree identity theft and fourth-degree health care fraud. Anna Khaled, 42, was arraigned on Oct. 28 on charges of second-degree forgery, first-degree identity theft, third-degree insurance fraud and fourth-degree health care fraud.
“The victim visited a hospital and was shocked when a doctor asked about her recent childbirth experiences, when in fact she had not given birth,” Singas said in a press release. “The allegations of identity theft in this case are particularly troubling because mixing medical records could have led to serious health consequences for the victim."

According to the DA, Aziz's first wife— she and Aziz are in the process of getting a divorce— visited the emergency room at Winthrop Hospital in Mineola for an examination in 2014 when the doctor asked her about medication she was supposedly taking. The woman said she did not take that specific medication and upon a review of her medical records, the doctor said she she suffered from a specific condition, was having her prescriptions filled at Glen Head Pharmacy in Glen Cove and had recently given birth to a child at Glen Cove Hospital, the DA said. Both claims, however, were untrue.
The woman, following the conversation at Winthrop, went to Glen Head Pharmacy and reviewed security footage of a woman picking up the medications under her name. She also went to Glen Cove Hospital, where she requested the medical records that were in her name. The DA said someone, who was determined to be Khaled, had used her identity and medical insurance to receive medical care and deliver a baby. The woman discovered that Aziz was listed as the person responsible for the medical bills and some of the forged records, the DA said.
