'Make Waves To Fight Cancer' Open Swim Planned For Sunday In Glen Cove

GLEN COVE, NY — The Nassau-Suffolk County benefit swim chapter of Swim Across America will host an open water swim, as part of Make Waves to Fight Cancer, this Sunday at Pryibil Beach in Glen Cove, according to the group's website.

The event will benefit Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, the Feinstein Institute of North Shore, MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital, SHARE Cancer Support, and Weill Cornell Medicine.

Since 2001, the group has raised over $12 million, officials said.

Check-in time is 5:30 to 7 a.m., followed by a pre-swim ceremony from 6:45 to 7:15 a.m.
