Antonia Theresa Pedersen

Antonia Pedersen, 101, of Darien, CT, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1924, in Italy, to Domenico and Annamaria Pagani.

Antonia moved to the United States at the tender age of six, growing up in Pennsylvania, where she graduated from high school. Later, she and her parents settled in New Jersey. During a vacation in the Poconos, she met her beloved husband, John Pedersen, who preceded her in death. They married in 1950 and planted roots in Glen Cove, NY, where Antonia lived for over 50 years.

Antonia was deeply involved in her community through charitable activities and the Women's Club of Glen Cove. She found great joy in playing bridge with friends, gardening and needlepoint, hobbies that showcased her spirit and creativity.

She leaves behind her legacy through her three daughters: Laurel Pedersen, Debra Pedersen, and Carol (René) Mathis; her six cherished grandchildren; and six beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving brother, Scy Pagani, and remembered fondly by her lifelong friend, Ellen Blue, and her caring friend, Judith Nelson.

Antonia's life was defined by resilience, warmth and devotion to her family. She lived more than a century with grace and strength, carrying with her memories of two continents, countless loved ones, and an enduring love for her family. Services will be held at St John Church in Darien on Friday, December 5th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to American Parkinson's Disease Association in her memory.
