'Movies Under The Stars' Kicks Off In Glen Cove On July 24

Grab your family and some popcorn for "Movies Under the Stars" in Glen Cove. Enjoy free family movies through Sept. 3.

GLEN COVE, NY — What's better than catching a movie in Glen Cove during the summertime? Grabbing a picnic blanket and watching a beloved film under the stars.

And that's exactly what you can do between July 24 and Sept. 3, thanks to the city's "Movies Under the Stars" program.

"After such a challenging year, we are so glad to see this come to fruition," Mayor Tim Tenke said. "We wanted to offer something to our community that we could all enjoy together."

Here's a look at the upcoming movie schedule:

  • Saturday, July 24 - "Jurassic Park" at Morgan Memorial Park, 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 7 - "Guardians of the Galaxy" at Morgan Memorial Park, 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 20 - "Ferris Bueller's Day Off!" at City Stadium Park, 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 3 - "The Goonies" at Morgan Memorial Park, 7:30 p.m.

Complimentary popcorn will be provided.

For films presented at Morgan Memorial Park, Hooked and Battered Concessions will be offering its famous shaved ice and snow cones. A kids combo meal will also be available for $5, which includes chicken nuggets with french fries and a beverage of your choice.
