Tom Suozzi Wins In 3rd Congressional District Race: BOE

The incumbent surpassed Mike LiPetri by 9,000 votes, the state Board of Election said.

GLEN COVE, NY — Rep. Tom Suozzi declared victory in the 3rd Congressional District on Tuesday night.

With all Election Districts in, the Democrat had a 9,000-vote advantage (48.7 percent) over his Republican challenger Mike LiPetri (46.3 percent).

"We got to secure the border; we got to get SALT back; we got to bring money back to New York and we got to heal this partisan divide," Suozzi told his supporters on Tuesday night.

Suozzi, who served as a congressman from 2017-2013, won a February special election to return as representative for the 3rd district.
