Obituary: Sal Lombardi, Former Glen Cove Comptroller, Dies at 67

Funeral services will be held this week.

Sal Lombardi, former Comptroller for the City of Glen Cove, died Saturday at the age of 67.

Lombardi, of Baldwin, is survived by his wife Linda, his children Michael (Jenny), Lisa Abrams (Ben), Daniel (Jessica) and Matthew, as well as his grandchildren Trinity, Tayla, Alexander, Bella, and Amelia, according to his Legacy.com obituary.

Glen Cove Mayor Reggie Spinello reflected on Lombardi’s passing. “It was my pleasure to work with Sal as he was a trusted friend and respected Comptroller and Tax Assessor,” he said in Facebook post.

Lombardi retired earlier this year after working for the City for over ten years. “He will be missed by many,” Spinello said.

He was a CPA, and also served as a member of AICPA and Treasurer for Baldwin School District. Read his full obituary here.

Visitation will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and to 9 p.m. at the Donza Funeral Home, located 333 Atlantic Ave. in East Rockaway. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10:45 a.m. at St. Raymond RC Church, located at 263 Atlantic Ave. in East Rockaway.
