• Glen Cove To Ban Public Marijuana Usage, First In Nassau County (patch.com) — Glen Cove has become the first municipality in Nassau County to ban public marijuana use, extending restrictions beyond state rules for parks and beaches to sidewalks, parking lots and other public areas. City officials and residents debated health, youth influence and fairness, with supporters citing secondhand smoke and children’s safety, and opponents arguing the fines are excessive and unfairly target marijuana users.
