• City Of Glen Cove Mayor Panzenbeck Officially Sworn In For Third Term (patch.com) — Glen Cove Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck has begun her third term after a Jan. 1 swearing-in at City Hall, where the entire City Council also took their oaths. She praised the city’s close-knit community, thanked local staff and volunteers, and highlighted her lifelong ties to Glen Cove. A special council meeting followed to swear in City Court Judge Ellen Savino.
   

• Glen Cove one of several school districts identified in state audit to have water testing compliance failures (longislandpress.com) — Glen Cove City School District was cited in a state audit for not fully complying with required lead testing and remediation of drinking water outlets in its buildings. Nearly half of outlets weren’t sampled, and some with elevated lead levels stayed in use without documented fixes. District leaders say identified issues have been remediated or are in final stages.
