Voter's Guide: Glen Cove 2018-19 School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day.

Those who reside within the area of Glen Cove City Schools will vote on the district's $88,209,126 proposed budget for the 2018-19 school year on Tuesday, May 15.

The proposal calls for a $2.68 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 1.99 percent, which is within the tax levy cap.

Residents will choose between six candidates looking to fill three seats on the Glen Cove Board of Education. They are: incumbent Amy Franklin, incumbent Gail Nedbor-Gross, incumbent Maria Venuto, Mary Murphy, Rosemarie Graziosi Sekelsky and Daniel Rios, according to Newsday.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Election District A, B, C: Glen Cove High School, located at 150 Dosoris Lane in the back gymnasium.
  • Election District C: Connolly School- Ridge Drive.
