GLEN COVE, NY — It's not every day you see a baseball legend enjoying an outdoor concert in your neighborhood. But that's exactly what happened in Glen Cove last week.

On Friday, former Yankees player Bernie Williams made a surprise appearance at Glen Cove's "Downtown Sounds" summer concert series. Presented by the city's Downtown Business Improvement District, "Downtown Sounds" takes place at Glen Cove Village Square Plaza every Friday through Aug. 27.

Last week's concert featured a performance by Lord's of 52nd Street — which is comprised of members from Billy Joel's 1970s touring band.
