Timoshenko got seven stitches in his paw after he helped bust a man for illegal firearms.

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN — An NYPD K-9 is recovering after he cut his paw during a raid on a Brooklyn home after he fell through an attic floor searching for illegal firearms, police told Patch.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home in Red Hook, on the corner of Van Brunt and Seabring streets, around 7:45 p.m. Thursday night, police said.

Cops brought along Timoshenko, a German shepherd named after Detective Russel Timoshenko who was killed during a traffic stop on Staten Island.

But, as Gothamist points out, Timoshenko is no stranger to headwear.
