Red Hook Residents: Grab an IDNYC Card in the Neighborhood This September
A pop-up IDNYC application center will be open for ten days in Red Hook this September.

RED HOOK, BROOKLYN — From Sep. 12 through Sep. 23, Red Hook residents can grab an IDNYC card right in the neighborhood.
A temporary enrollment site will be open at the Red Hook Community Justice Center, located at 88 Visitation Pl.. The news was announced by Community Board 6, which represents Red Hook's residents.
The application center will be open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, and on Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

You have to make an appointment before meeting an IDNYC staffer, which you can do online. And when you go, you'll need the proper paperwork to show that you live in New York. A list of acceptable documentation is available here.
The IDNYC card is available to anyone 14 years of age or older, regardless of their immigration status. The card serves an official identification card for those who need one, and carries numerous benefits, such as free membership to a host of New York cultural institutions and 15 percent off your first year's membership to Citi Bike.

On Aug. 18, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that More that 863,464 IDNYC cards had been issued to city residents.
