Two Dogs Saved From Tobin Ave Fire

A fire in a two-family home on Saturday was extinguished by firefighters.

Firefighters were able to rescue two dogs from a house fire in Great Neck this weekend, said the .

Firefighters from the Manhasset-Lakeville, as well as the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company were called to 78 Tobin Avenue at 1p.m. on Saturday, where they quickly ran hose lines to the basement.

"Another few minutes and it could of been a lot worse," said Firefighter Kirk Candan."

Firefighters did a search of the two-family home, and found two dogs. All the human occupants had previously evacuated.

The animals were removed from the building unharmed.
