Amazon Expands Whole Foods Grocery Delivery Service To LI

Amazon says you can get groceries to your front door in as little as an hour. See if the service is available is your area.

Amazon and Whole Foods expanded their grocery delivery service on Long Island and in select parts of the country, the company announced on Thursday.

Prime members who live on parts of Long Island can now shop through Prime Now for locally sourced produce, meat and seafood, everyday staples and other items from Whole Foods Market.

To see if delivery service is available in your area, Prime customers can enter their zip code at www.primenow.com or on the Prime Now app.

Items would be delivered in as little as an hour, Amazon says. Select alcohol is also available for delivery. Delivery service is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The service was also launched in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Palm Beach and select areas in New York City, including lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.

“We’ve been delighted with the customer response to delivery in as little as an hour through Prime Now, and we’re excited to bring the service to our customers in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Palm Beach, Long Island and New York City,” Christina Minardi, Whole Foods Market executive vice president of operations, said in a press release. “Today’s announcement is another way that we are continuing to expand access to our high-quality products and locally-sourced favorites.”

This service will expand to additional areas across the United States in 2018, Amazon says. Customers can shop using the Whole Foods Market selection at www.primenow.com or by using the Prime Now app available on Android and iOS devices.
