Car Crashes Into Salon, Injures 7 In Great Neck: Officials

Authorities say a vehicle crashed into a Great Neck salon on Sunday, injuring seven people.

GREAT NECK, NY — Seven people were hospitalized Sunday after a car crashed into a salon in Great Neck Estates, authorities said.

The crash occurred at DeFranco Spagnolo salon on Middle Neck Road shortly after 1 p.m.

The Great Neck Vigilant Fire Department told Patch that an elderly woman had to be extricated from her vehicle after smashing through the storefront. She was conscious at the time and taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

A second vehicle was involved in the incident, but a fire official could not confirm how — citing an ongoing police investigation into the crash. Multiple people in that second vehicle were also hospitalized for injuries, the official said.

Nassau County police have launched an investigation into the crash. The circumstances surrounding the incident — and the extent of the victims' injuries — have not yet been publicized.
