Several Injured When SUV Crashes Into LI Supermarket

Authorities say an SUV crashed into a kosher supermarket Tuesday, leaving several people injured.

GREAT NECK, NY — Several people were injured Tuesday when an SUV crashed into a kosher grocery store in Great Neck, authorities said.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. at 4 Welwyn Rd. Fire and police officials told Patch that a white Lexus slammed into Shop Delight, injuring at least three people.

The driver and passenger of the car were hospitalized, though the extent of their injuries is unknown, according to an official with the Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department.

In an interview with Patch, a Nassau County police spokesperson said a customer inside the store was hit with debris but refused to seek medical attention.

The department does not suspect criminality in this crash.
