Free Car Seat Safety Checks To Be Offered In Great Neck
Nassau County officials will be offering free car seat safety checks in the Great Neck House parking lot next month.

GREAT NECK, NY — Nassau County officials will be in Great Neck next month to give local drivers a lesson in car seat safety.
On Thursday, Oct. 7, county police officers and Department of Traffic Safety officials will be offering free child car seat safety checks. The event will take place in the parking lot of Great Neck House (14 Arrandale Ave.) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are required.

Motor vehicle crashes remain a leading cause of death for children. A total of 844 children younger than 13 have died in motor vehicle crashes in 2019, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. In that same year, 2o19 children killed in crashes were unrestrained, and others were improperly restrained.
Officials say properly restraining your child in a car seat can avoid serious injuries or death.
