Great Neck North, South Make US News Best High Schools 2019

Check out the Long Island schools that made the list.

Both Great Neck North and South High Schools were named to U.S. News & World Report's Best High Schools 2019.

Great Neck South ranked 26 in New York and 222 nationally and Great Neck North ranked at 61 in New York and 648 nationally.

More than a dozen Long Island schools made the list with Jericho High School topping the ranks.

  • Half Hollow Hills High School East (480 nationally/46NY)
  • Roslyn High School (523 nationally/49 NY)
  • Wheatley School (575 nationally/54 NY)
  • Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School (683 nationally/64 NY)
  • Half Hollow Hills High School West (788 nationally/73 NY)
  • Elwood John Glenn Memorial High School (901 nationally/85 NY)
  • John F. Kennedy High School (Bellmore) (903 nationally/86 NY)
  • W. Tresper Clarke High School (1,075 nationally/96 NY)
  • South Side High School (1,092 nationally/98 NY)

"By evaluating more schools than ever before, the new edition expands that focus so all communities can see which schools in their area are successfully serving their students — including historically underserved populations," Narayan said in a news release.
