Board of Ed Meeting

The Great Neck Board of Eduction will meet Monday at the Great Neck South library at 8 p.m. The meeting will begin with an informational session on state test results. See the agenda

Discovering the 'Blueway Trail' 

Kathy Eiseman will be in town Tuesday to discuss a "Blueway Trail" that will connect Little Neck Bay, Manhasset Bay and Hempstead Harbor. Her firm has been retained by the Town of North Hempstead to create the trail. Hear about the project, and provide input, when Eiseman is at the Port Washington Public Library at 7:30 p.m. for the North Shore Kayak Club's monthly meeting. Learn more

The Great Neck Village Board of Trustees meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Several permitting requests are on the agenda

Mammogram Program 

Legis. Wayne Wink, D-Roslyn, has announced that the mammogram program will take place Thursday at the Manorhaven Beach Park parking lot  at 158 Manorhaven Blvd., from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. Learn more

'Puccini’s Passion' at Sands Point

Friends of Sands Point Preserve is presenting the New York City-based Dicapo Opera Theatre in its first of four musical productions in Castle Gould’s Great Hall.  For adults, “Puccini’s Passion” on Friday tells the story of the great composer, near the end of his life, as he reflects on his life and loves — how they became the inspiration for his operatic heroines.  The evening also includes a three-course gourmet dinner prepared by Philip Stone Caterer – and guests can meet the artists following the performances. High School Football

It’s football Saturday. Great Neck North (1-0) is on the road. It faces Long Island Lutheran Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Brookville. Great Neck South (0-1) plays in Oyster Bay against St. Dominic at 1:30 p.m.
