Woman Arraigned In Fatal Great Neck Stabbing

The woman faces a second-degree murder charge.

A Great Neck woman was arraigned on Tuesday on charges connected to fatally stabbing a woman inside her home on Monday, Aug. 13, according to Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas.

Faye Doomchin, 66, was arraigned and charged with second-degree murder.

“After lunch together, this defendant allegedly stabbed and killed an innocent 61 year-old woman with a kitchen knife, without warning or provocation,” Singas said in a press release. “This is a horrific and senseless crime and my heart goes out to Denise Webster’s family as they mourn her loss.”

According to the DA, Doomchin stabbed 61-year-old Denise Webster once in the chest with a kitchen knife in her living room at her North Road residence around 4 p.m. Det. Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick told ABC Doomchin stabbed Webster to "rid the house of evil."

Webster was visiting from the United Kingdom for three weeks and had a mutual friend with Doomchin, authorities say.

Doomchin was remanded at the arraignment and is due back in court on Sept. 17. She faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
