The NPD Group, a Port Washington-based data company, announced it has partnered with Habitat for Humanity in Nassau County to build a home in Great Neck.

The organizations recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the work on the home.
NPD employees will volunteer "to bring the architectural plans to life and create a place to call home for a family in need," NPD announced in a news release.

"NPD was founded on Long Island, our headquarters for over 50 years, and throughout this time we have been committed to giving back to our community," said Karyn Schoenbart, NPD's Chief Executive Officer. "We are thrilled to partner with Habitat for Humanity on this important mission to improve our neighborhoods and the lives of the people within them."
"As we have done for over 27 years, Habitat Nassau County's goal is to inspire hope for families in need by building strength, stability, and self-reliance through helping them obtain their own home, usually for the first time in their lives," said Myrnissa Stone-Sumair, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity in Nassau County. "We are excited today to celebrate groundbreaking with our partner, The NPD Group, and acknowledge their generous sponsorship gift and commitment to supply over 1,000 volunteer man-hours in support of our life-changing work at our latest construction project in Great Neck, New York."
