The Marguerite Suozzi Young Performers Talent Competition is gearing up for this year’s Morgan Park Summer Music Festival. Each year the festival conducts auditions talented young musicians who live or go to school on Nassau County’s North Shore.

Entrants, who may be vocalists or instrumentalists, may audition for three prizes. Paid, professional performers are not eligible.

The prize categories are: first prize winner (ages 15-19), second prize winner (ages 15-19), junior winner (ages 9-14). Cash awards are presented to each winner. Winners must be available to perform at Morgan Memorial Park in Glen Cove on Sunday, July 12, 2015, for a concert that begins at 7:30 p.m. Winners will be presented with their cash awards at the conclusion of this concert. Additionally, selected entrants may be given the opportunity to perform at the July 12 park concert.

The 2015 Auditions will be held Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, Pearsall Avenue in Glen Cove. Judging will be in two age categories for three prizes

  1. First Prize - Ages 15-19, $1,000 prize
  2. Second Prize - Ages 15-19, $500 prize
  3. Junior Prize - Ages 9-14, $500 prize
