GREAT NECK PLAZA, NY — Authorities are investigating a fire that broke out at an apartment complex in Great Neck Plaza. Around 7:45 a.m. Monday, police and firefighters rushed to a working fire at the Pavillion apartment complex on Cuttermill Road, near Ash Place, police said.

Nassau County police 0fficers helped firefighters with the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Co. and Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department evacuate the building and locate the flames, which were inside a unit.

Photos posted on social media showed thick, black smoke coming out of the building. No one was hurt and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.

"Our thoughts are with the families affected," the Great Neck fire company wrote in a Facebook post.
