Star Student Athlete: Rachel Won't Let Her Team Down In Great Neck
We all know athletes who shine whether they're competing or not. Let's help share these amazing stories!

GREAT NECK, NY — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.
This submission comes from Alice who nominated her daughter Rachel of Great Neck.
Alice said her daughter has played through adversities and injuries because of her commitment to her varsity field hockey team. As captain, Rachel feels a responsibility to her fellow players and that outlook should help her in her future career plans: Alice says Rachel is a straight A student who wants to work in healthcare one day.
