Town Offers Mobile App for Snow Removal Issues
The 'My North Hempstead' app allows residents to contact the 311 Call Center around the clock.

Need a street plowed? If it’s a North Hempstead road, there’s an app for letting the town know.
The “My North Hempstead” mobile app allows residents to contact North Hempstead’s 311 Call Center around the clock, seven days a week, about any snow-related issues.
Launched in 2014, the app now includes a ”Snow Removal Issues” service request option to report a street that has not been plowed, or a street that needs to be re-plowed.

Users can take a picture of an unplowed street to include in their request. After submitting a service request, users will receive a tracking number for follow-up with the town about their request.
“The ‘My North Hempstead’ app is a valuable resource for town residents during snow events and emergency situations,” Supervisor Judi Bosworth said. “I encourage everyone with a mobile device to download the app and take advantage of all it has to offer not just during the winter season, but all year long.”

The app can be used to obtain information about additional services including recycling and garbage pick-up schedules based on location. Users can also sync schedules to their smartphone calendar.
The app also allows for photos to be submitted with service requests when reporting a pothole or a non-functioning streetlight.
The app is now available for free in the iTunes and Google Play app stores, and can be download on to www.northhempsteadny.gov/mynhapp.
