Wink​ Re-Elected To 2nd Term As North Hempstead Town Clerk

Wayne Wink released a statement regarding his win.

Wayne Wink was re-elected on Nov. 7 to serve a four-year term as North Hempstead Town Clerk.

Wink, a Democrat, defeated his opponent David Redmond, a Republican, with 61 percent of the vote. Wink received 24,943 votes while Redmond received 16,076 votes.

“I am pleased and humbled by the support I have received from our friends and neighbors here in the Town of North Hempstead," Wink said in a statement. "Our record of increasing and improving services while cutting the budget clearly resonated with residents, and I look forward to continuing our efforts in the years to come."

Wink was elected as Town Clerk in November 2014. He previously served as a County Legislator and spent five years as a Town Council Member.

Wink will begin his second full-term on Jan. 1, 2018. The swearing in ceremony will take place on Jan. 7, 2018.
