3 Hurt After SUV Strikes Utility Pole In Dix Hills

The crash brought down the pole, an electrical transformer and wires on Saturday night, fire officials say.

A single-vehicle crash in Dix Hills that knocked down a utility pole injured three people on Saturday night, fire officials say.

A SUV struck a utility pole on Deer Park Avenue, south of Ryder Avenue, bringing down the pole, an electrical transformer and wires at 8:15 p.m. Three people suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Huntington Hospital by the Dix Hills Rescue Squad.

Two heavy rescue trucks, two ambulances, paramedic and first responder units responded to the scene. Units were under the direction of Chief Tom Napolitano.
