Half Hollow Hills Central School District proudly celebrates High School East’s Preet Anand and Courtney Goldenberg and 2023 High School East graduate Shaheer Khan for earning perfect scores on college-level Advanced Placement® (AP®) Exams in spring 2023. They were among an elite group of students in the world to earn every point possible on an AP Exam, receiving the maximum score on each portion of the exam.

Anand and Goldenberg were two out of 357 students to earn a 5 on the AP Research exam, and Khan was one of 16 students to earn a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam.

"Congratulations to Preet, Courtney and Shaheer on their remarkable achievement of earning perfect scores on their AP exams. Their dedication and excellence exemplify the high standards we hold in the Half Hollow Hills Central School District,” said Dr. Patrick Harrigan, the Half Hollow Hills Superintendent of Schools. “These outstanding results not only showcase the talent of our students but also underscore the importance of our commitment to offering Advanced Placement classes. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments, and we are confident that they are well-prepared for continued success in college and beyond."

The Advanced Placement Program is committed to ensuring that students have access to the opportunities they have earned. Students who succeed in AP are not only more likely to succeed in college, but have the chance to save a significant amount of time and money by earning college credit or placement.

“AP courses and exams are college-level, requiring great focus and persistence among participating students,” said Trevor Packer, head of the Advanced Placement Program. “We applaud the educators who encourage students to challenge themselves and who motivate and encourage diverse students to achieve their academic potential.”

An education-oriented community with high academic expectations, the Half Hollow Hills Central School District is located in a residential area of 50,000 people in the central part of Long Island, approximately 40 miles from New York City.
