Man Dies In Motor Vehicle Crash In Suffolk
The man struck the back of a truck that was stopped at a traffic light, police say.
MELVILLE, NY — A man died in a motor vehicle crash in Melville on Thursday morning, Suffolk police said.
David Gange, 31, of Melville, was driving a 2022 Audi northbound on Route 110 when he struck the back of a 2020 Freightliner truck stopped at a traffic light at the intersection with Duryea Road at 11:04 a.m., police said.
Gange was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the truck, a 48-year-old Newark, New Jersey, man, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.
