Man Injured In Fiery Long Island Expressway Lamborghinis Collision
Two Lamborghinis collided, causing one of them to become engulfed in flames, police say.

MELVILLE, NY — A man was injured in a collision on the Long Island Expressway on Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of the L.I.E., near exit 50, at approximately 10:45 a.m. Sunday, police said. A 2021 Lamborghini being driven by a 55-year-old man from Dix Hills collided with a 2017 Lamborghini being driven by a 48-year-old St. James man, police said. The 2021 Lamborghini then veered into the center median and caught fire.
The Lamborghini was fully engulfed in flames following the crash, the Melville Volunteer Fire Department said. The car was extinguished.

The 55-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital to be treated for injuries and burns that are not life-threatening, the fire department and police officials said. The driver of the 2017 Lamborghini was not injured, police said. A third vehicle, an Acura, was also damaged in the crash, according to police.
Smiles Through Cars, a nonprofit organization that aims to bring love and hope to children battling illnesses through showing them nice cars, said the driver of the Lamborghini who was injured is Bryan Salamone.

"Bryan has ALWAYS canceled meetings to attend events for the children," Smiles Through Cars wrote on Facebook. "He has a heart of gold and needs our prayers. Please pray for his complete and speedy recovery so he can return home to continue visiting children."
In a post from Bryan Salamone's Instagram account, Team Salamone, he thanked everyone for their "kindness and prayers." A good Samaritan saved Salamone by pulling him from the burning car, according to Salamone's page.
"He and I are truly grateful and humbled to know I have such great friends in this life," the post reads. "[Salamone] said he loves you all and thank you for being there. Thank you. He was pulled from the burning car by a man named Mike who saved his life. He has another chance to live because of him. Mike saved his life and James put pressure on wounds."
The Lamborghini that caught fire was totally destroyed and was a one-of-a-kind Aventador SVJ Roadster #MLA10900, according to The Lamborghini Registry on Instagram.
"We pray Bryan is okay," the page wrote.
