Man Seriously Injured In Dix Hills Crash: Police
The man was driving when he struck a semi-truck and was seriously injured in the collision, police say.
DIX HILLS, NY — A man was seriously injured in a crash in Dix Hills on Thursday, Suffolk police said.
Roberto Cano, 23, of Smithtown, was driving a 2006 Toyota Prius southbound on Deer Park Road at Deforest Road when he struck a northbound 2025 Kenworth semi-truck around 2:15 p.m., police said. The Prius then struck a 2012 Hyundai Sonata that was stopped at a traffic light.
Cano was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 53-year-old Dix Hills man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to another hospital, police said. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata was not injured, police said.
All three vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information is asked to call the
