Melville Fire Department to Host 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The service will honor the Town of Huntington residents who lost their lives on this tragic day 15 years ago.

The Melville Fire Department will host a remembrance ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11 in honor of the 15th anniversary of that tragic day.

The community will remember the 2,997 people whose lives were lost on Sept. 11, 2001, including residents from the Town of Huntington who were killed.

The ceremony kicks off at 8:45 a.m. at the Melville Fire Department’s World Trade Center Monument, located at Substation No. 3 on the corner of Old Country Road and New York Avenue in Melville.

Once the service is concluded, residents are allowed to remain to reflect in private or to lay flowers in remembrance at the monument or plaque.

All are welcome to attend.
