Melville Restaurant Evacuated After Vehicle Crash

A woman lost control of her vehicle and crashed into an eatery's gas pipe, police say.

MELVILLE, NY — A Melville restaurant had to be evacuated Thursday night after a motor vehicle crash caused the eatery's gas lines to be cracked, Suffolk police said.

A woman lost control of her vehicle and hit a gas pipe at CAVA, at 834 Walt Whitman Road, around 8:50 p.m., police said. There were no injuries or damage to the building itself, police said.
