Pedestrian Killed In Suffolk Crash

The pedestrian was crossing a road when he was fatally struck by a car, police say.

MELVILLE, NY — A pedestrian was killed in a crash in Melville on Friday night, Suffolk police said.

A 23-year-old Huntington Station man was driving a 2003 Toyota sedan northbound in the left lane on Broadhollow Road, between Spagnoli and Ruland roads, when he struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway eastbound at 8:28 p.m., police said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at Nassau University Medical Center of East Meadow.

The Toyota driver was not injured, police said.

The Toyota was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on this crash was asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
