Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Suffolk Crash: Police
The pedestrian was hit near an intersection, police say.
DIX HILLS, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a car crash on Wednesday night in Dix Hills, Suffolk police said.
A 54-year-old West Hempstead man was driving a 2004 Pontiac sedan southbound on Deer Park Road, at the intersection of Old Country Road, when he struck a male pedestrian in the roadway at approximately 9:45 p.m., police said.
The pedestrian, whose identity is being withheld by police pending notification of next of kin, was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The sedan driver was not injured, police said.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252.
