Truck Overturns On Long Island Expressway Ramp In Suffolk
The dump truck flipped over when the driver lost control, police say.
MELVILLE, NY — A dump truck overturned on a Long Island Expressway exit ramp in Melville on Monday afternoon, Suffolk police told Patch.
The department's highway patrol was called to the ramp around 12:20 p.m. A man driving a dump truck lost control of the truck on the westbound off-ramp between 495 and Route 110 in Melville, causing the vehicle to overturn, police said.
The driver suffered injuries that are not life-threatening and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said. Motor Carrier Safety Section officers responded to the scene to evaluate the truck.
