Vehicle Fire Causes Long Island Expressway Closures In Melville

Most lanes have since reopened.

MELVILLE, NY — A vehicle fire caused all eastbound lanes to close on the Long Island Expressway in Melville on Friday morning, according to 511 NY.

The fire happened near Exit 49S-NY 110 (Huntington) around 11:40 a.m.

The right lane and entrance ramp from SSR to the I-495 eastbound remain closed as of 12:40 p.m. but the other lanes have since reopened.
