1 Killed After Explosion Aboard Boat Docked On Hudson River
The explosion happened near the North River Wastewater Treatment Plant, authorities said.

NEW YORK CITY — One person is dead following an explosion that occurred Saturday morning on a boat docked on the Hudson River.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard and New York City fire officials, the explosion happened around 10:30 a.m. on a barge docked near the North River Wastewater Treatment Plant at West 138th Street.
An NYPD spokesperson said police responded to the location after receiving a 911 call about a person in the water. When officers arrived, they found a 59-year-old man who was unconscious and unresponsive.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Two others were also taken to the hospital for treatment, according to an FDNY spokesperson. Both were in stable condition.

The Coast Guard said the explosion was linked to "hot work" aboard the boat.
An investigation into the explosion is ongoing, according to the Coast Guard.
