2-Alarm Fire Burns Building In Manhattan, FDNY Says

HARLEM, NY — Firefighters brought down a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon at a five-story building on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, New York City Fire Department officials said.

The FDNY responded just after 12:20 p.m. to reports of smoke and fire at 2254 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., between West 132nd and West 133rd streets, FDNY officials said.

The fire broke out on the building’s first floor, which contains a commercial space, according to the FDNY.

A second alarm was transmitted, bringing 106 firefighters to the scene, the FDNY said.

Crews had the fire under control by 1:47 p.m., officials said.

Authorities said that no injuries were reported, and that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
