HARLEM, NY - Two firefighters were hospitalized after battling a fire on St. Nicholas Avenue late Thursday night, officials said.

The blaze at 100 St. Nicholas Ave. was reported about 11:30 p.m, fire officials said.

12 units and 60 fire and medical personnel responded to the seven-story, "non-fireproof" building that shares a ground floor with Citi Hardware and The Bark Shoppe, fire officials said.

The two injured firefighters were transported by medics to St. Luke’s Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately made available Friday.

The fire was deemed under control about 45 minutes later.
