2 Nabbed In Deadly Harlem Shooting Near CUNY: NYPD
Two Bronx men, including a 19-year-old, were charged with murder following the shooting death of a Harlemite last week, police said.

HARLEM, NY - Two Bronx men were charged with murder following the shooting death of a Harlemite last week, police said.
William Cartagena, 19, and Xavier Baez, 23, were charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said Wednesday.
The victim, Akebulon Reeves, 34, was shot multiple times outside 206 East 119 Street about 10:03 a.m. on Sept. 13, police said. The shooting location is adjacent to a busy intersection lined with delis, a massive Dollar Tree and CUNY’s Silberman School of Social Work.

Medics transported Reeves to NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
Witnesses told the New York Daily News they saw a masked shooter open fire at Reeves before fleeing on the back of a scooter. One local resident told the outlet he administered first aid before medics arrived.
